Delv looks out for avid book lovers seeking to stay in touch with reading without compromising their schedule, ensuring that reading and keeping track of your books becomes a simple feat. An intuitive eBook reader, ground-breaking audiobook player, intensive reading tracker, and a personalized virtual bookshelf all in one digital package.
With a built-in eBook reader, users can read their owned electronic books offline,providing them the opportunity to read wherever they go. With their eBooks, the usercan highlight, quote, or comment on a selected passage, as well as gain quick access tothe table of contents. They are then provided an overview of all the bookmarks, notes,quotes, and highlights specific to each book that the user owns. While reading, the usercan customize the page color, font type, and text size.
In consideration of users that prefer listening to audiobooks, Delv provides an audioplayer that separates the owned audiobooks by chapter and allows the user to rewind,fast forward, pause, and change the listening speed to their liking. This feature makes itfurther possible for the user to set aside time for reading as it provides the option tocarry out other activities in a day while simultaneously listening to the book.
The user can set personal reading goals in terms of the number of pages read, the timespent reading, and the number of books read for any period of time specified by user.The application generates daily reading logs that tracks how much and what you readwhile using the app. These logs can monitored anytime, and can be compared witholder logs. There are reports that compiles the reading progress for the week, month,and year. These reports provide statistics and graphs in regards to your progress, withcomparisons to previous reports. To track your reading, there is a built-in stopwatchthat the user can start whenever they begin their reading session. Once they finish, theuser can stop the stopwatch and add the elapsed time, along with the number of pagesthey have read in that time, as a new log for the book they are currently reading.
In the user's virtual library, they can organise added books into categories of theirchoice, in terms of whether they have yet to start that book, whether they are currentlyreading it, or if they have already finished that book. The books are also sorted bygenre, author, and customizable collections that can be created and named by the user.The user is also given the choice to share specific collections to others with generatedlinks. These links depict the books within the collection in a list format, enabling usersto easily send a list of personal book recommendations to their friends. Any audiobooksor eBooks downloaded to the device is automatically added to the virtual library, and isdistinguished from books unavailable on the device with color coded markers.
With this feature, the user can use the search bar to search up a book by its name orISBN number. When a book is selected, the user is presented with details of the book,including the synopsis, date published, number of pages, and the overall rating by otherDelv users. From here, the user can add the book to any shelf in their virtual library. Theapplication makes it convenient to buy or borrow a book, by providing a link to buy theeBook or audiobook from Amazon. Within this page is also a list of recommendationspersonalized and tailored to the user's interests, based on the books they havepreviously read and rated. This list is adjusted frequently according to what the usercontinues to read.
Under this tab, the user is presented with awards and badges they could earn wheneverthey achieve a specific goal. There is one section dedicated to general awards, whichyou can receive in the form of levels with the number of books you read. There isanother section that presents a list of timed miscellaneous challenges that the usercould get into (for example, "Read a book from the year that you were born"). When achallenge under this section is completed, the user can share the book they have readfor this challenge, as well as be able to see the book submissions anonymously sharedby other Delv users.
