This digital experience brings to life the compelling tale of 'There Will Come Soft Rains' by Ray Bradbury, which I encountered during my high school literature classes and has stayed with me ever since.
Creating this adaptation was a memorable project that pushed me to explore new skills and software, like video editing and sound design. As my first major endeavor, I aimed high, striving to present the story in a stylistic manner and immerse viewers in an atmospheric experience through animations and sound design.
The process had its challenges, including the wait for a new graphic tablet. However, this setback allowed for thorough planning and focused attention on other elements, such as audio. I utilized the lineart from the comic adaptation of the story, cleaned it up, and adjusted it in Krita to match the video's resolution before adding colors.
The final result of this artifact closely aligned with my initial vision, although some ideas, like incorporating more animation, had to be shelved due to time constraints. Peer feedback confirmed that the video successfully evoked a sense of dread throughout.
